Vishwakarma is the creator of the architectural splendour of the golden city of Lanka. What was originally designed for Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati was eventually given to the Asura King Ravana as Dakshina. When lord Shiva reduced Kamdev to ashes with the fire emitted from his third eye it is Lord Vishwakarma who collected the ashes and made a doll with it. Lord Shiva breathed life into this to give rise to the mighty Bhanda (Bhandasura). When the radiance of Suryadev was too much for his wife to bear lord Vishwakarma collects the excess to craft celestial weapons from them thereby making Surya’s radiance bearable.
